Family Business, the first episode of the second half of Season 4, aired last night, and we want to know what you thought of the episode. But first...
A Quick Recap
After the tortuous delay from September 18th, we finally got to see the full confrontation between Neal and "Sam", who is actually Neal's father James Bennett, a former D.C. police officer (former because he murdered a fellow cop). "Family Business" concerns the con/investigation into the Irish mobster Flynn Jr., whose own family background is closely intertwined to that of Neal and his estranged, semi-con-man father.
To get closer to Flynn Jr. (and learn more about his father), Neal must go undercover as a whiskey distiller. He manages to counterfeit a very expensive whiskey in order to get close to Flynn Jr. (clips of which can be seen [[Family_Business#Clips|here), but before he can have his henchman kill Neal, Peter, and Mozzie, the trio use some inside information from Neal's father about a gun hidden by Flynn Sr., as well as quick thinking involving a bottle of whiskey and an oven to thwart them. Flynn Jr. is arrested.
In a twist, Flynn Jr. is killed on his prison transfer, meaning that someone out there knew about the arrest. This means James is in danger as well, and when Neal goes to help him, he walks out of his life again to go into hiding, just so he can come back someday and be able to get to know him. The episode ends with a flashback of the first time James walked out on Neal, when he was a boy.
