Luc Renaud was an Interpol agent from France. He was Matthew Keller‘s handler during a secret operation to take down the notorious criminal gang of professional thieves, the Pink Panthers. When an opportunity presented itself to place Neal within the gang, Peter Burke and Neal Caffrey planned a similar FBI op. The unexpected reunion between Neal Caffrey and Matthew Keller, both while on undercover ops within the same gang, caused a lot of conflict between the two teams. However, they attempted to work together until the leader of the Pink Panthers discovered there was a mole within the gang. Agent Peter Burke asked Agent Luc Renaud to pull Matthew Keller from the mission, thus revealing Keller as the mole, in order to save the mission. Agent Renaud initially agreed but was manipulated by Keller into breaking off his alliance with Agent Burke. Unfortunately, Matthew Keller then betrayed Agent Luc Renaud and he was murdered by the leader of the Pink Panthers. Keller removed his injected tracker from his wrist, implanted it on Aubrey, and told Woodford about Renaud being an Interpol agent. Woodford killed Renaud and got ahold of the tracker, using it in the emergency meeting he called to find the tracker now in Aubrey's pocket.[1]
