Gordon Taylor is a world-class gentleman thief, who even inspires Neal Caffrey. He has never been caught, has many friends, and is one of the most beloved cons in the world. He also owns a villa in Antibes, France where it's rumored that you can hear his parties all throughout the Mediterranean.
In "Stealing Home", Gordon is hired by wealthy and entitled Robert Withrow, Jr. to steal George Herman Ruth's first official home run ball, which is priceless and not for sale. For the heist, Gordon assembles a crew and even stands up to Withrow, Jr., threatening to shut down the job when Withrow, Jr. forces his armed lackey's way into the team to keep an eye on everyone.
During the heist, Gordon notices something is wrong with Mozzie, so he disappears before the FBI appear. Even so, Gordon returns to pay Neal for the job as part of his motto "Everyone gets paid" and even invites Neal to pull another job with in Paris one day, despite figuring out that Neal was part of the sting.
